The first emblematic hotel in the Canary Islands
We have been recognised in 2022 for the initiative of entrepreneurs who have carried out activities in rural areas, contributing to the fight against climate change, the defence of biodiversity or the implementation of the circular economy in this area.
The award in the category of Green Economy has recognised the work of the Hotel Hacienda de Abajo, located in La Palma, which with the rehabilitation of the Casa Principal de Tazacorte for tourist use, which was the richest sugar plantation on the island, together with the extension of a 17th century manor house, constitutes an exemplary project in the Islands in terms of sustainability and a model of cultural dissemination, and treasures unique botanical species in its garden.
